Each chapter of my life has taught me something valuable. The challenges, the pivots, and the unexpected opportunities have all strengthened my resilience, deepened my sense of purpose in caring for others, and reinforced my commitment to making a meaningful impact.
When I was a kid, I remember playing softball with the neighborhood boys. My dad had just come home from work, ran inside to change, and came back out, he was always the catcher, and I was always the pitcher. That day, someone hit a hardline drive straight into my shin. I went down. It hurt so much, I thought my leg could be broken. My dad walked over, rubbed my leg, and asked, “You okay?” I said unsure, but wanting to be tough, “I think so.” He said, “Well, get up and shake it off! We need a pitcher!”

It taught me one of the most valuable lessons in my life: Take a minute to feel and process what you are going through, then you get back up and keep going.
During my college years, while studying physical therapy, my father got sick, and everything changed. I became passionate about understanding how food impacts health, how diet might prevent illness, not just respond to it. That opened up a new path for me, combining my interest in health with my love of cooking. After my dad passed, I gave the corporate desk job a try and hated every minute of it, so I went to culinary school.
And from there, I opened my own bakery, Piece O' Cake, on my father’s birthday in 1992. That business was my first baby. I ran it for 23 years, building custom cakes for all kinds of life events. It was creative, fulfilling, and 100% mine. But during my divorce, I had to close the bakery to care for our four kids. Letting go of something I built from the ground up was painful, but I had to pivot and keep moving forward, just like I always did.
After closing the shop, I needed something that gave me flexibility for my kids and let me work with people again. Years earlier, I’d bought the building the bakery was in, and that had sparked my interest in real estate. I didn’t have extra cash to invest, but I had curiosity. Real estate reminded me of baking, in a way, being there for the big moments, navigating emotions, and helping people feel confident in their decisions. Cakes were the short game. Real estate’s the long game.

With four kids and two stepchildren, caring for people is just part of who I am. My son Joe has Down syndrome, and being his mom has taught me how important it is to really understand that everyone shows up with different needs, some you can see, and some you can’t.
That’s why with clients, I take the time to ask questions, listen closely, and make sure that during the life-changing process of buying or selling a home, I truly understand what’s going to make it the right next step for you and your family. You never know what someone is going through, divorce, loss, blended families, special needs. I get it, because I’ve lived it, and want to help you navigate the process to get you through it and on the other side.
Real estate has given me something of my own again, a way to do meaningful work that truly impacts people. It is never about the sale. I am here for the long game, committed to making sure my clients feel safe, supported, and never pressured. This process is about doing what is right for you, and no matter how long it takes or what hurdles come up, I am with you every step of the way.
Life has knocked me down a few times, but as my dad said, "Shake It off", So I got up. And each time, with more strength, resilience, and direction.
What has defined my real estate career is how I show up for people. I am not here to sell you anything. No one likes to feel pressured or rushed, I am here to listen, understand what matters most to you, and guide you through the process in a way that meets your needs and aligns with your best interests. Whether you are buying, selling, or just exploring your options, my role is to support you in making informed, confident decisions.
With years of experience as a business owner, I understand what it takes to manage details, solve problems, and keep things moving behind the scenes. I also understand and appreciate that no two people or situations are the same, which is why I take the time to learn what you need, down to timing, financial concerns, family transitions, or unique life circumstances. From the first conversation to closing day and beyond, I am hands-on and fully invested in your success, focusing on building a relationship on trust, not on making a sale. The goal for me is to help people walk through these decisions with confidence, knowing they have an advocate and guide who is truly in their corner now and in the future.
Sincerely,

Joely Carasia
